Ghallard Sys 2026 Practical Training Programme: From Applied Learning to Professional Perspective

Developed by Ghallard Sys in partnership with the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, the programme gave FCCIA students the opportunity to explore the connection between academic education and professional experience through mentoring, working sessions and site visits.

In a field where documentation, coordination and on-site inspections must be understood as an integrated process, future engineers need practical contexts that provide clear insight into the profession they are preparing to enter.

For the students, the internship offered precisely this perspective: working sessions, discussions with specialists and the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of how construction site activities are carried out.

For Ghallard Sys, this involvement represents a tangible way of supporting young people at the beginning of their careers through mentoring, professional dialogue and knowledge transfer.

From the academic environment to professional experience

Between 22 June and 17 July 2026, Ghallard Sys organised its 2026 Internship Programme for four third-year students from the Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings: Andreea, Cristina, David and Radu.

The programme included onboarding sessions, presentations on how the organisation operates, its internal policies and the team’s working principles, followed by practical topics covering digital tools, applications used in day-to-day activities and technologies that support internal processes.

On the technical side, the students took part in working sessions focused on the Quantity Surveying and Quality teams. They learned how technical documentation is analysed, how the different stages of construction works are discussed and how office-based activities are complemented by on-site inspections.

Ghallard Sys mentors and specialists played an important role throughout the programme, providing explanations, practical examples and guidance, while openly sharing their professional experience and turning it into valuable reference points for the students.

“Practical discussions on construction solutions and the analysis of technical documentation, together with site managers, construction supervisors and mentors, were key milestones in my professional development.”

Radu

“For us, it was important that the students understand the reasoning behind the work of the Quantity Surveying team: attention to detail, cross-checking information and how each verification contributes to the overall picture of a project.”

Alexandra, Quantity Surveyor

Site Visits: Documentation, Coordination and Responsibility

The visits to the Slobozia Multipurpose Arena and the University of Bucharest complemented the programme with an essential component in the training of future engineers: directly observing how documentation, execution and inspection come together within a project.

At the Slobozia Multipurpose Arena, the students were able to observe the relationship between drawings, construction elements, installation works, coordination and inspection. A project of this scale provides a clear perspective on how construction supervision supports work quality, information traceability and the connection between what is designed, executed and inspected.

The visit to the University of Bucharest introduced another dimension of construction site activity. In the case of an existing building with architectural and historical value, technical intervention requires a careful balance between safety, functionality and respect for the building’s identity.

The restoration and structural strengthening of a building of this kind require a thorough understanding of the building itself, the details that must be preserved, the limits of the intervention and the ways in which technical solutions can protect, adapt and enhance a building with a distinct architectural identity.

“The activity I found most useful was the site visit to the University of Bucharest, where the mentors placed us in the role of engineers and challenged us to identify solutions to issues encountered during construction and design.”

David

“On site, the students saw how important it is to understand the context of a project before discussing technical solutions. For a future engineer, observation, asking questions and engaging in dialogue with the team are essential exercises.”

Doru, Project Manager

“I gained a better understanding of how construction supervision and site inspection ensure the traceability of works and the verification of documentation, so that the project meets all applicable requirements.”

Cristina

“If I were to describe my experience at Ghallard in three words, they would be: valuable, motivating and constructive.”

Andreea

Continuing the Journey Through an Internship

Following the practical training programme, the internship represents the next step for students who wish to build on the experience gained at Ghallard Sys and become more closely involved in the company’s day-to-day activities.

Our aim is for this journey to create meaningful connections between the academic environment and a professional career, providing young specialists with support, professional guidance and, over time, the opportunity to join the teams contributing to the development of both the company and the industry.
